Who Are We?
The Lake Chapala Fine Artists Guild is a relaunch of the original Lake Chapala Painting Guild established in 2011.
Our goal is to promote fine art through collective exhibitions in the Lake Chapala area,
as an alternative to handicraft art markets and solo exhibitions.
Our new group's focus has been expanded to include additional fine art mediums besides just painting – but we still do not include crafts.
At our exhibitions you'll see only fine art by established, professional artists.
To ensure the quality of the art we exhibit, our art group is purposely kept small, our membership is by invitation only,
and new artists who want to join us are vetted for the quality of their work.

Our Guild believes in supporting the local Mexican community.
At each of our shows, we invite young student artists to exhibit their art.
This gives them valuable experience, builds their confidence, and provides them with exposure to art buyers.

Exhibition at the Ajijic Museo de Arte
The Lake Chapala Fine Artists Guild is proud to announce that we will be having a group exhibition at Efrén González' Ajijic Museo de Arte (Flores Magón #3 in West Ajijic) from Saturday, February 15 through Wednesday, February 26, 2025.
We are holding an opening reception on Saturday, February 15 from 3pm to 6pm. Drop by, meet our artists, socialise, and see some amazing art!
In June 2022, Efrén González opened a unique art venue in Ajijic – an art museum featuring the work of local artists. Today, the museum holds the largest permanent collection of local art Lakeside. It also has a temporary exhibit space for short-term exhibitions – usually, these feature a single artist. This new exhibition is the first time an art collective has been asked to exhibit at the museum. A map to the museum can be found online at this link: Google Maps.

The guild is pleased to announce that we have a display wall of art from our members in the lobby of the BRAVO! Theatre in Riberas del Pilar. Pieces are available for sale, and are changed about every two months.

Some of Our Past Exhibitions or Events
We were pleased to hold a group exhibition at the Ajijic Cultural Center (in the Ajijic Plaza) from Saturday, January 11 through Wednesday, January 22, 2025. This show was a critical success, with many comments about the high quality of the art presented.
The Guild held a special Holiday Fine Art Sale as a one-day event on Wednesday, December 18 2024 at the Plaza Bugambilias shopping mall in Ajijic, in conjunction with the nearby Holiday Tianguis (Wednesday Street Market). our artists occupied the entire mall, displaying their work on both the street level and the upstairs mezzanine.
A unique exhibition was also held at the Centro para la Cultura y las Artes de la Ribera in Ajijic on Friday and Saturday August 11/12 2023 in conjunction with the Festival del Lago, and was billed as an “Evening of Art and Music”.
We held another exhibition at the Centro para la Cultura y las Artes de la Ribera in Ajijic on Friday and Saturday April 21/22 2023. We were proud to have been asked back to this community arts venue.
Our first exhibition at the Centro para la Cultura y las Artes de la Ribera (formerly known as the “auditorio,”) was held in Ajijic on Friday and Saturday March 3/4 2023. This was the first fine arts collective show at this prestigious venue.
Our inaugural exhibition was held at Robina's Art House in Ajijic on Friday and Saturday January 21/22 2023. This was hugely successful, and served to introduce our Guild to the local community.
