The Lake Chapala Fine Artists Guild was founded in 2011 by a group of accomplished local painters,
including Lois Schroff, Gwynne Lott, Marian Decker, Anita Lee, and Cynthia Dubois.
Initially focused on juried exhibitions of paintings and pastels, the Guild became
a hallmark for professional painting in the region.
Though temporarily disbanded during the COVID pandemic, the Guild was re-established in November 2022 with a broader focus.
It now includes additional fine art mediums, while maintaining its commitment to excellence.
Membership remains exclusive, by invitation or recommendation,
and all applicants must pass a jury process to ensure the highest standards of professionalism. This ensures the highest quality of art at our exhibitions.
The Guild’s mission is simple, yet profound:
to present collective exhibitions featuring high-quality art
that enhances homes and inspires the community.
By focusing solely on visual art — without crafts, clothing, or other distractions —
the Guild provides a platform for both established and emerging talent to shine,
and presents an alternative to handicraft art markets and solo artist exhibitions.
At our exhibitions you'll see just art — quality art by established, professional artists.
If you're looking for superior art for your home or business, please come to one of our exhibitions
and see what we're all about – you will not be disappointed!
Admission to our exhibitions is always free! Click here to see our latest exhibitions
Our Guild believes in supporting the local Mexican community.
At each of our non-gallery shows, we invite young student artists from the Efrén González Children's Art Program
to exhibit their art – and gain experience interacting with the public.
In addition, we sell their art cards and original art at these shows, as well as at the receptions for our gallery shows.
This gives them valuable experience, builds their confidence, and provides them with exposure to art buyers.
